COLLAGE & MIXED MEDIA, LANDSCAPE

We live in a world full of texture and colour! This class will support you to explore diverse mediums to create a novel artwork that challenges you to think outside the box. Whether you traditionally work with drawing, painting, or sculpting, then collage and mixed media is an exciting opportunity to refresh your creative perspectives and techniques! This can provide your practice with a regular creative warm-up or a new artistic outlet! The class will be a fun, insightful, and inclusive opportunity for people of all ages and abilities. We will use magazine images to create a collage, and then layer this with materials such as acrylic paint, gesso, cardboard, ribbon, glitter, buttons, leaves, twigs, and anything else you desire! This class will be delivered in three parts: first guided instructions to familiarise yourself with collage art principles and techniques for creating effective mixed media artworks. The second part will be a free opportunity to apply the skills you’ve learned to experiment with creating an artwork with guidance and feedback. The third part will be focussed on realising a collage and/or mixed media project of your choice. Please keep health and safety, and the wellbeing of you and your classmates in mind if you choose to bring your own materials to class, including ensuring these as low-odour, non-toxic or otherwise dangerous.
