The Contemporary Craft Retreat is a combined Painting, Drawing, Acrylic Pouring, Polymer Clay, Metal Clay, Art Doll, Air-Dry Clay, Paverpol, Beading, Mixed Media Workshop Event. We invite you to learn a variety of contemporary art and craft skills from the cream of Australia's most talented Contemporary Clay, Paverpol and Art/Craft Instructors.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome Guest Artist Janet Thatcher, known for her stunning photo-realistic works created with pastel pencil on velour.


Connect with like-minded creatives on Level 3 of the Tuggeranong Southern Cross Club, where all workshops will be held. During breaks, enjoy delicious meals from the Café or Restaurant located on Level 2.

The Contemporary Craft Retreat is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a friendly, creative, and fun-filled weekend away—or, if you prefer, you’re welcome to join us for just a single day of classes.

This is a not-for-profit community event.

All fees go directly towards covering essential costs such as venue hire, instructor fees, advertising, and other associated expenses. Our organisers generously volunteer their time and work throughout the weekend without receiving any payment for their efforts.

THE CONTEMPORARY CRAFT RETREAT DONATES TO:-

         SAMMUNAT, NEPAL We know that many women in Nepal are extremely vulnerable to violence and exploitation. We also know that simply rescuing them or giving them financial assistance is only a short term and ultimately short-sighted solution.  They work with the women to provide:-

  • Free or affordable legal assistance;

  • Advocacy and human rights training;

  • Specific income-generating skill training

  • Counselling for the women as required; and

  • Support as the women re-establish themselves and their families in new communities. We know that this was particularly important as the women are sometimes unwelcome in their home towns.
